Welcome to Tullinløkka
When "Kiss the Frog! The Art of Transformation" opens for the public, almost three years have passed since the idea of using Tullinløkka as a venue for a cultural event celebrating the jubilee year 2005, was born. During this time, the manifestation has changed character - but the ambition has remained just as high and the aim just as clear as when it was first conceived: to be a prominent part of Norway's centenary celebration of its status as an independent nation, but also to mark the establishment of the new National Museum. It has been about taking possession of Tullinløkka - and then not letting go; about breaking down the "national trauma" that has developed after a decade of expectations for a new museum and after two unsuccessful architectural competitions. Now Tullinløkka is once again open as a place that offers possibilities. A place in which Kiss the Frog! The Art of Transformation takes a great leap forward - without moving back again - and marks an absolute border between the past and the future. I wish you all an unforgettable experience!
