Guided Tours
The main focus of the Museum's art mediation programme is a range of guided tours. The specially trained staff of the Museum present the exhibitions, particular topics or single artworks. The guided tours may be pre-booked or may be part of the general public programme.
The guided tours usually last for one hour. The form and content matter are tailored to suit different target groups. The pre-booked guided tours are free for school classes. A time and theme can be booked with the contact person at each museum department.
We prefer you to contact us by telephone beforehand to discuss the tailoring of the guided tour to your particular requirements. The size of group we can accommodate varies depending upon the exhibition and venue. It is also possible to book a one hour session in the workshop after the guided tour at three of the exhibition venues. Other groups are welcome to book guided tours, both within and outside the opening hours of each museum department - but a charge is made for this service.
Guided tours arranged by The National Museum for the general public usually take place on Saturdays and Sundays. These are announced in our programmes, on our website and in the newspapers.
